For sale is our Audi A3 Sportback 8PA, built in 2010, with about 133,400 km and the powerful 1.8 TFSI with 160 hp. A really nice, strong car that drives sportily and remains pleasantly manageable in normal maintenance.

In terms of equipment, it also does not have to hide: panoramic glass roof, bi-xenon with dynamic cornering light, seat heating, automatic air conditioning, cruise control, PDC rear, multifunction leather steering wheel, sports seats as well as a modern multimedia radio with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto including navigation, e.g. via Google Maps. The engine consumed oil last it was about 1 litre per 1,000 km. We do not hide this and do not discover it only by chance three days after the sale.

Increased oil consumption is a well-known topic in this generation of 1.8 and 2.0 TFSI engines, especially in connection with the original piston/oil scraper ring design. Most of these engines are affected over 100,000Km. In our vehicle, the increased consumption only occurred from about 115,000 km. The following things have already been done to contain and reduce: Oil cap and PCV valve have already been renewed, and engine flushing and, more recently, double treatment with piston ring cleaner have been carried out. Whether the oil consumption has improved effectively, we can currently not seriously assess, as the vehicle was subsequently not driven enough kilometers. But according to reviews on the Internet and Youtube videos, this treatment should be promising.

And because we prefer to treat the subject with humor rather than secrecy: Let’s add a 20-liter barrel 5W-40 to the car. Other sellers put a fragrance tree or set of floor mats in the car. We have the TFSI carefree starter package. In addition to the fabric floor mats, we also add a set of rubber floor mats.

Simply occasionally check the oil level and refill it if necessary. Anyone who is familiar with these engines knows what he is getting into anyway and who wants to permanently eliminate the problem, for which there are corresponding technical solutions with revised pistons or pistons. The Audi drives really great: strong pull-through, beautiful chassis, 6-speed manual shift and a very good general condition for its age.

In addition to the described oil consumption, only slight scratches on the bumper at the front right of the previous owner and two small stone strikes on the hood are known. We are not aware of repaints or rust.
