The S63B44 engine, with 555 horsepower from its original plant, coloured with black metal paint, has been produced 180,000 kilometres to date and was produced in 2011.

For the first time in 2009, it was launched on behalf of X5M (a vehicle model). It did not appear by chance to meet the challenges of rivals in the market at that time, such as Mercedes ML63 AMG and Porsche Cayler Turbo. The goal of the BMW sector is very clear: to inject the pure M Power performance and spirit into a large, practical SAV (sport-type multi-purpose vehicle) and to build a “super athlete in a suit”.

The visual component, based on the general version of E70 X5, has been fully aerodynamics and performance modification. A more aggressive front-envelope was used, with greater air access, cooling of engines and brakes, identification “M” markings (wing plates, tails), “Shark cheeks” guiding holes on the side of the car, motion-sensitive side skirts and rear surroundings, as well as a marked bilateral exhaust.

The design of BMW E70 is relatively biased in road style, while the more combative breath of X5M is more likely to be the extreme of a more aggressive style, with the original X5M-E70 plant carrying 4.4T turbo-string engines, agitated, acoustic, and an overall orientation based on a four-wheel-drive model, with an excellent driving sense and manipulation.
