1989 Porsche 944

The Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet represents one of the most accomplished interpretations of Porsche’s transaxle philosophy. Introduced in 1989, it was the first fully open-top production model in the 944 range, combining the usability of a refined grand tourer with the character and balance expected from a true Porsche sports car.

At the heart of the S2 read its remarkable 3.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine. With a displacement of 2,990 cc, it was one of the largest four-cylinder engines ever fitted to a series-production road car at the time.
