The Porsche 987 Boxster Spyder is an exceptional sports car. This version of the Boxster, produced until 2011, is characterized by its lightweight design, improved driving performance and a puristic driving experience. The model is an homage to the original spyder philosophy that focuses on driving fun, agility and precise steering behavior.

The 987 Boxster Spyder differs from the standard boxster models by its minimalist design and weight-saving measures. Porsche could save about 80 kilograms of weight compared to the standard boxster S. This was achieved by dispensing with unnecessary features such as optional air conditioning, optional audio system and conventional door handles, which were replaced by light fabric loops.

One of the most distinctive features of the Boxster Spyder is the unique, manually opening fabric top. This roof structure reduces the weight and ensures a classic convertible feeling, but requires a little more effort when opening and closing than a conventional electric top. In addition, the low windshield and the shapely tailgate contribute to a dynamic and sporty appearance.

Under the hood of the 987 Boxster Spyder, a 3,4-liter six-cylinder boxer motor with 320 hp works. This is a slight increase compared to the 310 hp of Boxster S. Thanks to the lower weight and the powerful motor, the Spyder accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds – an impressive performance for a vehicle of this class.

The driving experience in the Boxster Spyder is additionally improved by the sports suspension, which is 20 mm deeper than the standard boxster. This leads to a lower focus and more precise handling.
