1994 Volvo 850 2,5 20V 1994

After extensive work, we give up sobered. This Volvo was intended as the first car for our junior, but because we cannot do welding work ourselves, it is now sold.

For the Volvo there is a complete history with TÜV reports and invoices. In the autumn of last year alone, clutch, toothed belts, mufflers, axle cuff and various were replaced for 3000 and the year before there was a new ignition coil and battery. etc. etc.

When we took over the Volvo from an old lady this summer, the ABS lamp was constantly lit. So I flashed the error and found it. ABS sensor at the rear right. I replaced both rear sensors and the complete brake system (see photo), also the left torn hand brake rope was renewed. When removing the sill cover and jacking on neighboring stage then the disillusionment. Sill left under the rear door is through. An outside sill costs about 130 at Skandix. The rest of the hole is patchwork for which you have to be able to weld. Since I can not do that and nobody wants to do it for little money in the area, at least for us here is end.

Other shortcomings I have noticed: The sliding roof can be raised and lowered, but not recently moved back. The sky above the driver resolves easily. The air conditioning is without function. The Volvo Guard alarm system has struck again and again, so I have removed the relay and now there is calm.

Positive to mention are the good Goodyear winter tires and the chic wooden steering wheel. The Volvo is logged out. If it doesn’t go away at the price, it will remain as a spare parts warehouse for my 850.

The fact that the old lady was pulled a lot of money out of her pocket last year without mentioning the expensive, tüv-relevant ABS repair and the rust on the sill shows how the workshops are now on it.
