2001 Volvo C70 2.3 T5 Coupe Manual

For sale is my beloved and increasingly rare 2001 Volvo C70 2.3 T5 manual coupe! The car has currently covered 286.336km, but is still in regular daily use, so this will increase.

The car is ready to be bought and driven immediately and currently requires no known mechanical investment. The engine, gearbox, turbocharger, clutch, suspension, braking system and all extra equipment are working properly.

Ownership and maintenance history:

I have owned the car since March 2025 and have used it as a daily driver.

During my ownership, I have invested more than €6000 in documented maintenance and repairs (all invoices and work orders available) which I list in detail below

May 2025 – 260,000 km * complete front brake system overhaul (ATE discs, pads, brake pipes and Valeo calipers) * Brembo handbrake shoes, jump kit and kit mounting * TRW front control arms and suspension/wheel alignment * transmission oil change

June 2025 * window switch replacement * Osram LED headlights installed and adjusted (with official approval documentation)

September 2025 – 266,000 km * timing belt, water pump, auxiliary belt, auxiliary belt tensioner replacement * service (engine oil and filter, air filter, cabin filter replacement) * fuel filter replacement * spark plugs replacement

February 2026 – 278,000 km * service (engine oil and filter, air filter, cabin filter replacement) * driver-side window regulatory replacement and adjustment

July 2026 (preparation for technical inspection) – 286,000 km * A.Z. Meisterteille rear brake calipers * Bilstein rear shock absorbers * Driven boot replacement * indicator stalk and steering column cover replacement

Wheels and tyres

Summer set * 2025 Continental PremiumContact7 summer tyres - now on their second season of use * original Volvo Comet 17” alloy wheels (professionally refurbished in June 2025)

Winter set * 2024 Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 winter tyres - used for 1 season * original Volvo Canisto 17” alloy wheels (purchased in November 2025 and require refurbishment, but run perfectly)

Known imperfections:

In order to provide a completely honest description, I want to clearly mention all known issues.

This is not a new car, therefore it has some age-related cosmetic imperfections. The majority are isolated aesthetic and do not affect the everyday usability of the vehicle.

Known issues: * both skirts require rust repair * damage on the rear bumper * minor scratches, stone chips and signs of normal use due to age * driver’s seat outer bolster and seat cushion are torn * armrest, type lever surround and handbrake surround require re-trimming * steering wheel shows wear * driver-side door card backing panel is damaged, causing the upper section not to fit perfectly * driver-side speaker does not work perfectly * driver-side window mechanism has been replaced. The window works correctly, but is not 100% perfect, resulting in slightly increased wind noise at highways * the rear view mirror is cracked

Apart from the above, there are currently no other known faults.

This is not a new car and not a full restoration, however, it is a very rare example of a first generation Volvo C70 - a coupe with a T5 engine and 5 speed manual transmission. At the time of writing, only a handful of these were available across major European used-car platforms.

The focus during my ownership has been on mechanical reliability, which is why the major and expensive maintenance items have already been completed. The remaining work is mainly cosmetic, allowing the next owner to continue improving an already solid example to make it truly exceptional inside and out.

It is now a true youngtimer: * A safe, comfortable and fast, all-round truly fantastic long-distance GT car * Volvo’s legendary 5 cylinder turbo engine is a joy to use and list to, even by today’s standards * It is equally suitable as a daily driver or a weekend enthusiast car

I am looking for someone who appreciates the rarity, character and engineering of this model.
