Information in German: When the original mini was introduced at the end of the fifties, hardly anyone could predict how long this model would actually be produced. In the sixties and seventies, the design has been revised and developed several times.
One of these developments was the Mini Clubman. This model received a modified front section with a longer hood and a new radiator grille. The design was created under the direction of the designer Roy Haynes, who had previously worked at Ford. The aim of this change was, among other things, a more modern appearance and better access to the engine compartment for maintenance work.
The specimen offered here was completely restored and rebuilt in the past. The vehicle was completely disassembled and subsequently reassembled, a method which is frequently described as a so-called groove and Bolt restoration. The work was carried out by an employee of a well-known Dutch restoration specialist. In the course of restoration, the body was completely exposed to the bare metal and then carefully rebuilt.
It is therefore not surprising that this mini is in an excellent state today. With very nice lacquer, straight body surfaces and correct details, the exterior presents itself in very good condition. The interior also corresponds to the typical mini character: simple, clear and functional. In this vehicle the interior is particularly well maintained with high-quality upholstery and beautiful carpets.
Of the restoration works there are numerous photographs that give a good impression of the work done. On our website we have already published some restoration pictures.
The mini is known for its compact dimensions and its low weight. This makes the vehicle particularly maneuverable and agile in road traffic. In combination with front drive and short wheelbase, a driving experience is created which is still unmistakable for lovers of classic mini models. Thanks to the extensive restoration, this mini is excellent.
