The 718 Boxster T is not a special model that is defined primarily by additional comfort equipment. On the contrary. At the “T” Porsche has deliberately focused the 718 on what makes a sports car: low weight, an excellent mid-engine suspension, direct feedback and as much driving pleasure as possible.

The “T” traditionally stands for “Touring” at Porsche. The idea goes back to the 911 T of 1968 and was reinterpreted in a modern, very consistent way at the 718. Porsche combined the 300 hp 2.0-liter turbo-boxer engine with numerous driving dynamic components that clearly lift the T from the normal 718.

These include the PASM sports suspension lowered by 20 millimeters, the Sport Chrono package, the dynamic gear bearings and Porsche Torque Vectoring with mechanical rear axle cross-lock. The result is not a car whose speciality is only found in an equipment list. You notice the difference especially when driving.

Of course there are faster Porsches. The PDK switches faster and objectively more efficiently. But that's exactly what this car is about. The stimulus of Boxster T is that the driver still gets something to do and that is why I would personally prefer a T with manual switching to a comparable PDK vehicle. It embodies the original idea of this model more consistently.

An exceptionally small and comprehensiblely well-maintained specimen for someone who doesn't just search for some 718 boxster – but consciously a 718 boxster T with manual control.
